200 join flash mob to protest against Article 1 (2) amendment Bill

KUCHING: Some 200 people participated in a 30 minutes flash mob organised by Sarawak Association for Peoples’ Aspiration (SAPA) and Sarawak for Sarawakians (S4S) at Padang Merdeka this morning.

The event, which stated at around 9am, saw participants shouted several slogans in a protest against the proposed Article 1 (2) of the Federal Constitution amendment Bill tabled at the parliament last week.

Besides that, participants were seen holding banners bearing slogans such as ‘Sarexit Oooha’, ‘Don’t bully Sarawak’, ‘Bangsa Sarawak’, ‘Sarawak for Sarawakians, demand Sarawak retain status as sovereign nation’, and ‘Negara Sarawak’.

After the event ended at around 9.30am. the group walked around Padang Merdeka waving the old Sarawak flag before dispersing.
